BIOGRAPHY
Growing up in suburban Melbourne, Victoria, I found that making my mum and dad laugh by posing with my pinky and eyebrows raised like Dr Evil from Austin Powers, was more entertaining to me than the thought of chasing boys with sticks, although I still to this day enjoy doing the latter. After endless nights of putting my family through painless ventures of a five-year-old’s attempt at a one-woman’s disparity through song and dance, I was given my first chance to shine on stage at ‘Stage Left’s summer programme for kids. Sparking my newfound love of ‘the rush’ of being in the spotlight and having all eyes on me, as ‘Fairy Number 3’.
Thus beginning my ascent into acting.
After securing the lead role of ‘Sophie’ in my school’s theatre play ‘The BFG’, 12-year-old Issy tried her hand at some extra work on ‘Neighbours’. That’s where I discovered my admiration for TV and Film.
At fifteen years old I booked my first television role on ABC3’s “You’re Skitting Me” - a sketch comedy show emulating skits similar to Saturday Night Live ‘but for kids’, leading to various featured roles on TV shows such as ‘Upper Middle Bogan’ and ‘Please Like Me’ alongside many a commercial for companies including Beyond Blue, Sprite, Woolworths, La Roche Posay and Twinings. I rejoined the cast of ‘You’re Skitting Me’ for a third season in 2016 on top of shooting two seperate short films and pursuing work in Los Angeles, California.
I obtained my O1-B work visa in January of 2018 which led me to move to LA at 20 years old. I signed with Abby Bluestone and Neville King at Innovative Artists and was met with incredible experiences of auditioning for lead roles on multiple networks and streaming services, creating valuable experiences and great connections with casting directors and producers. Unfortunately due to Covid, I moved back home to Australia in March of 2020.
I’ve recently made the move to London and look forward to paving a new pathway for creative opportunities that my five-year-old, Dr Evil impersonating self, would be highly impressed by.
MUSIC
Alongside acting is my love for singing and songwriting. At 16 years old I travelled to LA for a music programme which led to me co-writing with Mitzi Dawn, a well-known country singer/songwriter. That led to my trip back to the US in March of 2014 where I wrote and recorded my first single ‘Pin Up Girls’. It charted at #1 on the Country music charts in Australia. Because of its success, I travelled back to Nashville in January of 2015 where I co-wrote and recorded an entire album.
Through those experiences I received recognition from multiple management groups and agencies, landing a placement of my song “Galaxies” in a feature film produced by Warner Brothers and released through Disney+ called ‘Clouds’. “Galaxies” has garnered over a million streams on various music platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. I plan to continue to write songs to pitch to artists as well as release my own music independently.
